Madhuri Dixit was the reigning queen of Bollywood from the late eighties to late nineties. She was one of the leading actresses and a very accomplished dancer throughout the 90s Indian cinema. Through her prime Madhuri was one the biggest sex symbols and was known for her sexy voluptuous body and a heart melting smile. Recently she was awarded a ‘Padma Shri’, India’s fourth highest civilian award by the Indian government. She is one of the few Indian actresses who can carry the film on her shoulders and drive the audience to the theatres.

Madhuri made her acting debut in 1984 film Abodh which was a failure at eh box office and she had to continue struggling with some minor and supporting roles. She got her first big break in 1988 film Tezaab opposite Anil Kapoor. The film went on to become a mega success and made Madhuri a star. After which there was no stopping this sexy queen of Bollywood. Madhuri’s controversial kissing scene with Vinod Khanna in Dayavan became the talk of the town around the release of the film.
Madhuri is popular for her immaculate dancing style on some super hit dance numbers like Choli ke Peeche, Ek Do Teen, Dhak Dhak, Maar Dala and many more. Her sexy and gyrating dancing style is popular amongst audience all over the world. Her modern westernized dancing style in Dil To Pagal Hai with sexy costumes and some wild moves left the audience awestruck.

Throughout the 90’s Madhuri acted in several super hit films like Ram Lakhan, Parinda, Tridev, Dil, Beta, Khal Nayak, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Dil To Pagal Hai, Devdas and many more. Madhuri has also acted in some critically acclaimed films like Mrityudand and Gaja Gamini.

In 1999 Madhuri married Dr. Nene a surgeon in USA and lives there with their kids. After 2002 she took a big break from films and returned in 2007 with another Yashraj film Aaja Nachle.
